After debut in 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, 2015 Chevrolet Sonic RS Sedan release date is confirmed at fall 2014. There are many teaser photos in Internet, issued by the automaker. This hatchback has same engine with previous generation by using Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged engine for delivering 138 hp and excellent torque of 148lb ft, same power to 2014.
The RS offers comfort and stability to drive with 6-speed transmission and improving braking performance. It takes 8 second for getting on 60 mph and stopping distance shrinks to 163 feet at 70 mph. With lower height design of MacPherson strut front suspension and stiffened design of springs, you will enjoy driving with less gripping in city and highway. The fuel economy is awesome with 26 mpg in city and 35 in highway.
There are also major updates on interior features such as rear view camera, heated front seats, trims and lane departure warning systems. For entertainment purpose, there are onboard navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity and remote start. The pricing is not confirmed, it is likely same at 2014 version.
The presence of 2015 Chevrolet Sonic RS Sedan is meant to provide hot hatch credibility in order to beat Ford Fiesta. With new changes on coil springs, semi-independent rear suspension and stabilizer bar, GM claims it as most powerful subcompact hatch in US and Canada market.
