2016 BMW X1 Released With New Changes on FWD Platform

2016 BMW X1 Released With FWD Platform

In many spy shots on Internet, it is rumored that 2016 BMW X1 will be released in end of 2015 with FWD platform, sleeker and shorter design. The prototype looks shorter compared to previous version. It is new platform to provide 2 choices: rear and all wheel drive powertrains. But other news stated that there will be a change on wheel drive by using FWD platform based body. There is new redesigned style on front wheel which appears to be slipped.

The layout of front wheel drive is more practical that make it sportier next generation car. As famous automaker, BMW tries to deliver this car with high fuel economy, stability and better engine performance. The production cost is cut without sacrificing the important features as well as weight by using lighter materials than 2015 version. The engine will be reengineered using straight 6-engine, mounted transversely.

Some news also reported that 2016 BMW X1 will come with two engine options: 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-engine. At first glance, it seems to be more streamlined on its style. We expect this car will be launched as soon as possible on such auto show with best changes on body lines and top speed. I hope it will be tough competitor to its rivals such as Audi Q5.
